Manual reset means the contacts open when temperature falls to setpoint and latch open until physically reset - the plant cannot restart on its own. That is the behaviour wanted from a freeze or low-limit device: the trip should be investigated, not cleared automatically. Because the control latches, there is no differential in the usual sense; the price list records "DIFF. NO" for this configuration.
The 20 ft. capillary is the longest Johnson Controls offers, and on a latching control that length is especially useful. A manual-reset device has to be reachable by a person, so being able to mount the head twenty feet from the bulb means the reset can sit outside a cold room, above a ceiling void, or at an accessible panel while the sensing element stays where the freeze risk actually is. Route and support the full 20 ft. of capillary without kinks or tight bends - a damaged capillary disables the control, and on a freeze-protection device that failure is consequential. EXCLUSIONS. This warranty does not cover (a) any failures which are not attributable to defects in materials or workmanship, including without limitation, failures caused by accidents, inadequate maintenance, misuse, unauthorized modifications or repairs, improper storage, and normal wear and tear, (b) any consumable parts or accessories, such as cutter blades, nut splitter chisels, punches, dies, chains, wedges, and strands, that are designed to wear over time or through use of the Product, or (c) electronics, motors, batteries, and engines, as these items are warranted by their manufacturer.
WARRANTY RETURNS. No Products shall be returned without prior authorization from B2E Surplus. Buyer shall prepay all shipping charges for the return of Products to B2E Surplus’ designated service location.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. IN NO EVENT SHALL B2E SURPLUS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SPECIAL DAMAGES, INDIRECT DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUES, OR LOSS OF USE, EVEN IF INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
