P28 Series Lube Oil Control with Built-in Time Delay Relay - net oil pressure cutout for pressure-lubricated refrigeration compressors, with trip-free manual reset.
The P28 and P128 Series Lube Oil Controls provide dependable and economical oil pressure cutout for pressure-lubricated refrigeration compressors. The field-adjustable pressure differential of these controls provides compressor operation according to the manufacturer's specifications. The P28 and P128 controls measure the net lube oil pressure and de-energize the compressor if the pressure falls below the differential setpoint. Manual reset models are available with factory set and sealed time delays of 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120 seconds. Not all time delays are available for all models.
The P28 series provides dependable lube oil protection on pressure of lubricated refrigeration compressors by sensing low lube oil pressure. A built-in time delay switch, accurately compensated for ambient temperature, allows for pressure pick up on start and avoids nuisance shutdowns on pressure drops of short duration during the running cycle. The time delay relay is a trip-free device and the manual reset cannot be overridden.

Operation (OEM)
PC1 pressure-actuated contacts open on an increase in pressure difference between the oil and low pressure connectors; PC2 contacts close simultaneously when PC1 contacts open and are used for the runlight circuit. TD1 contacts open after the set time delay interval if the pressure difference between the oil and low pressure connectors is not established; TD2 contacts close simultaneously when TD1 contacts open and are used for the alarm circuit. In the field you can replace or interchange the time delay relay assembly, which consists of the timer and terminal board. Do not make field repairs except for replacement of the time delay relay assembly.
SERIES PART NUMBER NOT OEM-DOCUMENTED. The P28DP series part number is not itemised in the OEM P28/P128 ordering information table, which lists the P28AA (Style 13, manual reset, non-corrosive all-range, 120/240 VAC), the P128AA (Style 5), the P28AN (Style 15, ammonia), the P28DN (Style 15, ammonia, with alarm and runlight terminals) and the P28PA (Style 5, 24 VAC/VDC). The closest documented series part number is the P28DN. Pressure connection style, refrigerant compatibility, time delay relay voltage, alarm/runlight terminals and time delay are therefore NOT claimed below. Read them from the control label before fitting.

WARRANTY RETURNS. No Products shall be returned without prior authorization from B2E Surplus. Buyer shall prepay all shipping charges for the return of Products to B2E Surplus’ designated service location.
