Johnson Controls M9220-GGA-YK10 Proportional Actuator [New]

The Johnson Controls M9220-GGA-YK10 is a direct-mount electric spring-return damper actuator from the M9220 Series - 177 lb·in (20 N·m), 24 VAC/VDC, proportional control with position feedback and no auxiliary switches.

Confirmed from the GGA letters and from specifications Johnson Controls states for the whole series:

* Position feedback: DC voltage corresponding to the rotation limits, 1 mA maximum
* Supply: AC 24 V or DC 24 V - the G in the code is the 24 V supply letter
* Rotation range: mechanically limited to 90°; adjustable 30 to 90° with the optional M9220-603 stop kit
* Shafts: round 1/2 to 3/4 in. (12 to 19 mm); square 3/8 and 1/2 in. (10, 12 and 14 mm), standard clamp included

Please confirm this code with us before ordering. Johnson Controls' M9220 ordering table lists twelve models and every one of them ends -3: AGA-3, AGC-3, BAA-3, BAC-3, BDA-3, BDC-3, BGA-3, BGC-3, GGA-3, GGC-3, HGA-3 and HGC-3. This item is labelled -YK10, which appears nowhere in the manufacturer's literature we can find.

The GGA letters are documented and everything above follows from them or from series-wide statements, so it holds regardless of the tail. What we have not stated is the run time, spring return time, power consumption or cable. For reference, the catalogued M9220-GGA-3 runs 150 seconds, spring returns in 20 seconds, draws 15.5 VA running with a 20 VA minimum transformer, and carries a 48 in. (1.2 m) halogen-free cable. Send us a photo of the nameplate and we will confirm before anything ships.

A letter-and-digit tail is usually a real variant, not a typo. "YK10" is too specific to be a keying slip, and elsewhere in this range Johnson Controls publishes genuine separate lines under unusual suffixes - the M9203-xxx-RK series is a real JCI range with its own literature, catalogued by a damper manufacturer for factory-mounted applications. Read the label: if it names a damper or equipment maker, that is very likely your answer. Note that we also hold an M9220-GGA-YK40, so this looks like a family of variants rather than a one-off.

The voltage is not in doubt. In this range the supply is the second letter and Johnson Controls publishes a dedicated code per voltage - GGx and all other xGx codes are 24 V, BAx is 120 V, BDx is 230 V. Line voltage is offered on the on/off models only, so a proportional M9220 cannot be a line-voltage part. This is a configuration question, not a voltage one.

Spring return means fail-safe. The full 177 lb·in is rated both running and spring returning. Direction is set by mounting: side A face away from the damper gives counter-clockwise spring return, side B away gives clockwise.
