Description
The Johnson Controls M9116-GGC-2 is a direct-mount electric non-spring-return actuator - 140 lb·in (16 N·m), AC/DC 24 V, with proportional control, 0(2) to 10 VDC position feedback and two integral SPDT auxiliary switches.
Per Johnson Controls' selection chart, the M9116-GGC-2 takes a DC 0(2) to 10 V or DC 0(4) to 20 mA proportional input, carries 2-SPDT auxiliary switches, and returns DC 0(2) to 10 V feedback.

The two auxiliary switches are the whole reason to choose this code over the M9116-GGA-2. Johnson Controls supplies them only on the -xxC models, and describes them as available "to indicate end-stop position or to perform switching functions at any angle within the selected rotation range." Use them to prove open or closed back to the panel, interlock a fan, or fire an alarm contact partway through travel - without bolting an external limit switch to the damper. If you do not need switched contacts, the GGA-2 is the same actuator for less money.
In Johnson Controls' words, these are bidirectional actuators that "do not require a damper linkage, and are easily installed on a damper with a round shaft up to a 3/4 in. (20 mm) in diameter or a square shaft up to 5/8 in. (16 mm)." The series also has electronic stall detection, which the manufacturer describes as ensuring "higher reliability by deactivating the actuator motor when a stall condition is detected."
Proportional, not adjustable-span. This model follows a 0-10 V (or 2-10 V / 4-20 mA) command across its full travel and reports position back on a 0-10 V line. It does not have adjustable start and span - that is the M9116-HGx. If you intend to sequence two or more actuators from one control signal, one taking 0-5 V and the next 5-10 V, as in a mixed-air or face-and-bypass section, specify the HG model instead.
Tandem: Johnson Controls rates two -AGx, -GGx or -HGx models in tandem at twice the torque. A GGx pair is on that list, so 280 lb·in (32 N·m) from two M9116-GGC-2 units is a supported arrangement - ask us and we will confirm the tandem hardware.
Valve option: mounts to VG1000 Series ball valves and VG7000 Series globe valves using an M9000-5xx Valve Linkage Kit.
Non-spring return: holds its last position on loss of power. For outdoor air dampers in cold climates Johnson Controls recommends a spring-return actuator instead.

EXCLUSIONS. This warranty does not cover (a) any failures which are not attributable to defects in materials or workmanship, including without limitation, failures caused by accidents, inadequate maintenance, misuse, unauthorized modifications or repairs, improper storage, and normal wear and tear, (b) any consumable parts or accessories, such as cutter blades, nut splitter chisels, punches, dies, chains, wedges, and strands, that are designed to wear over time or through use of the Product, or (c) electronics, motors, batteries, and engines, as these items are warranted by their manufacturer.
WARRANTY RETURNS. No Products shall be returned without prior authorization from B2E Surplus. Buyer shall prepay all shipping charges for the return of Products to B2E Surplus’ designated service location.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. IN NO EVENT SHALL B2E SURPLUS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SPECIAL DAMAGES, INDIRECT DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUES, OR LOSS OF USE, EVEN IF INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
