. . . . . The Johnson Controls A19ABA-44C is an A19 Series wide-range, adjustable-differential remote bulb control with SPST open-low contacts, an adjustable differential of 3 to 12 F°, a 3/8 in. x 4 in. bulb, and - the distinguishing feature - a short 3 ft. capillary, in a NEMA 1 enclosure.
The 3 ft. capillary is what separates this dash number from its siblings. Most A19ABA controls ship with 6 ft. so the head can be mounted well away from the sensed point; 3 ft. is deliberately short, for installations where the control sits close to the box, coil or tank and a long capillary would only need coiling and securing. Shorter capillary also means less tube exposed to damage - a kinked or severed capillary kills the control outright, since the liquid fill is what drives the switch.
Open-low action means the contacts open as temperature falls to setpoint, the standard refrigeration configuration: cut the compressor when the space is down to temperature, remake on the rise. The adjustable differential is set in the field - these controls carry an internal scale plate marked in increments and are supplied with the adjusting lever at the minimum differential stamped on the control, so the band can be opened up to prevent compressor short-cycling or narrowed for closer product control.
Sensing is by a liquid-filled element giving low-volume, responsive action, with precision repeat accuracy unaffected by barometric pressure or cross-ambient conditions. Switching is by a Precision Pennswitch contact unit with snap-acting, dust-tight contacts. Wide-range adjustable-differential ratings apply: 16.0 FLA / 96.0 LRA at 120 V, 9.2 / 55.2 at 208 V, 8.0 / 48.0 at 240 V, with 22 A non-inductive at 120 to 277 VAC and 125 VA pilot duty at 24 to 600 VAC - enough to switch a compressor or motor load directly rather than only piloting a contactor.

EXCLUSIONS. This warranty does not cover (a) any failures which are not attributable to defects in materials or workmanship, including without limitation, failures caused by accidents, inadequate maintenance, misuse, unauthorized modifications or repairs, improper storage, and normal wear and tear, (b) any consumable parts or accessories, such as cutter blades, nut splitter chisels, punches, dies, chains, wedges, and strands, that are designed to wear over time or through use of the Product, or (c) electronics, motors, batteries, and engines, as these items are warranted by their manufacturer.
WARRANTY RETURNS. No Products shall be returned without prior authorization from B2E Surplus. Buyer shall prepay all shipping charges for the return of Products to B2E Surplus’ designated service location.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. IN NO EVENT SHALL B2E SURPLUS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SPECIAL DAMAGES, INDIRECT DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUES, OR LOSS OF USE, EVEN IF INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
