Description
This is a hydronic fan coil valve actuator, not a gas valve. The Honeywell VU843A1004 is a 24 V two-position valve actuator used with Honeywell VU-series fan coil valve bodies to control the flow of hot or chilled water in commercial HVAC equipment such as fan coil units, terminal reheat coils and convectors.
Pairing is critical. Honeywell states that VU443 and VU843 actuators must be used only with VU53 2-way normally closed valve bodies. Fitting a VU843 to a VU54 3-way body may cause water hammer and will shorten actuator life. Use a VU444 or VU844 actuator for VU52 normally open or VU54 3-way bodies.
The 24 V control circuit makes this the low-voltage member of the family, suited to installations running from a control transformer rather than line voltage. The actuator mounts with a one-button quick release and a secure three-point metal latch, and can be removed or serviced without draining the system or disassembling the valve. It is spring-return, and a manual opener allows the valve to be operated during a power failure, returning to automatic control when power is restored.

Compact construction fits under the cover of most baseboard convectors. Typical applications include fan coil units, terminal reheat coils and convectors in commercial HVAC systems.
Important: on 24 V systems, never jumper the valve coil terminals, even temporarily - this can burn out the heat anticipator in the thermostat.

EXCLUSIONS. This warranty does not cover (a) any failures which are not attributable to defects in materials or workmanship, including without limitation, failures caused by accidents, inadequate maintenance, misuse, unauthorized modifications or repairs, improper storage, and normal wear and tear, (b) any consumable parts or accessories, such as cutter blades, nut splitter chisels, punches, dies, chains, wedges, and strands, that are designed to wear over time or through use of the Product, or (c) electronics, motors, batteries, and engines, as these items are warranted by their manufacturer.
WARRANTY RETURNS. No Products shall be returned without prior authorization from B2E Surplus. Buyer shall prepay all shipping charges for the return of Products to B2E Surplus’ designated service location.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. IN NO EVENT SHALL B2E SURPLUS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SPECIAL DAMAGES, INDIRECT DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUES, OR LOSS OF USE, EVEN IF INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. B2E SURPLUS' LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO ANY ORDER IS LIMITED TO THE ORDER PRICE FOR THE SPECIFIC PRODUCT THAT GIVES RISE TO THE CLAIM. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THESE LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS SHALL APPLY REGARDLESS OF WHETHER LIABILITY ARISES FROM BREACH OF CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO NEGLIGENCE), BY OPERATION OR LAW, OR OTHERWISE.
